About Me
Lisa Cardenas invites viewers to reimagine the nature of connection. In her role as an artist, she creates abstract paintings and new interpretations of the world around us that challenge us to see life from new perspectives. Cardenas grew up in El Paso, Texas, and later moved to Dallas in 2004, where she spent several years exploring her passion for art. Determined to grow her skills and passions, she received her BFA in Drawing and Painting as well as a BA in Art History from the University of North Texas and went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts and Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She continues to inspire her audiences through her genuine expression, drawing from the moments of loss and tragedy as well as the support, hope, and family she has built. Today, she has developed a set of signature styles of abstraction that have made her a recognizable creator among the Texas art community and beyond. Creating art has become an essential practice for Cardenas, immersing herself in her studio every day.
She has exhibited extensively across Texas at institutions including Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art Gallery, The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art Biennial, and the Frisco Art Center, in addition to being featured in publications such as Athenaeum Review, Dallas Sunday Art News, Voyage Dallas Magazine, and Art Quench Magazine.
